The' will of the late Sir Frederick
Holder has' been lodged in Adelaide for
probate. It is dated May 23, 1889. e
estate, which ip bequeathed to Lady
Holder, is sworn not to exceed in value
.£6,200.
Mr.. J. B. .Holman, M.L.A., general
secretary of the Timber Workers' Union,
has returned to Perth from the Eastern
States, where, in company with Mr. P.
O'Loghlen, M.L.A., he attended the con
ference of the council of. the Timber
Workers' Federation. Mr. Holman also
attended the Federal arbitration proceed
ings instituted by the timber workers of
Australia.
A well-known resident of Kalgoorlie, in
the peAson of Mr. Solomon Edward Men
doza, died on Monday evening from an
attack of pneumonia and pleurisy. The
deceased was 52 years of age, and at one
time he was librarian of the Melbourne
Athenaeam, which post he relinquished to
fill the position of librarian and secre
tary of the Ballarat East Public Library.
At a meeting of the Subiaco Municipal
Council last night Mr. F. Daniels was
sworn in as the municipal auditor for the
remainder of the year.
