While droceeding to work at Wyrning
from .Bolgart'on Saturday afternoon a man
ramed Richard Bluefield expired suddenly in
a vehicle. The deceased was about 60 years
of ,age.
RAVENSTHORPE.
At a meeting of business men on Friday
night the Phillips River -Trade Protection
Socity was formed. A provisional commit
tee. consisting of Messrs. Lansell,. Daw,
Dunn, Benjamin, and Date, was appointed to
draw up rules. etc

In the Boulder Police Court yesterday Mr.
W. A d.G Walter, R.N.. imposed a fime of
£5 .with 2s.. costs on-Mary Foley. the licensee
of t'he Perseverance Hotel, whop pleaded
guilty to a charge of Sunday trading.
Teresa Norton, the wife of a mine fireman
whose armi~ was so badly crushed by machi.
.nery recently that it'had to be amputated.
was charged ibefore Mr. Walter R.M., in
the Boulder Police Court yesterday, with
sly grog selling. A plea of guilty was en
tered. An appeal was made for leniency by
the defendant's solicitor on the ground that
she was trying to. support herself and her
husband and son by means of a little store.
Mr. Walter took into consideration the de
fendant's position and fined her £5 with 8s
6d. costs.
A miner nanied Edward John Grant. an
old resideiit of Trafalgar,. fell down in Irwin
street,yesterday morning and died in a few
minutes. His body was removed to the
Boulder morgue, where a post-mortem ex,
amination disclosed that death was due to
natural causes.
SBROAD ARROW.
In.the Lioensing Court on Friday an ap
plication by A. E. Garnett for the removal
of his` publican's general licence from Oro
Banda to the new township at Gimlet ,was
granted. -A similar application by George
"Hughes was refused.
KALGOORLIE.
At the inquest concerning the cause of
death of Walter Cole, 60 years of age, who
was foind dead with his throat cut at the
73 mile camp on the Kurrawang wood line,
a verdict was returned that death was
caused by a wound, self-inflicted, after a
bout of excessive drinking.
Bernard Rockman, greengrocer, was out
at MLessrs. Butcher and Uhr's slaughter
yards at Saturday afternoon with his cart,
serving a customer. Subsequently a passer
by found him lying dead in tl cart. The
police were notified and Dr-.' awell was
dtputed to make a post-moorem examin
ation. The deceased was about 40 years
of age, and was married.
