Archbishop Rilev who left last meek for
Geraldton, has contracted a cold and act-,
inc under medical advice will be unable to
fulfil" any engagements for the present.
The Bishop of the North-West (Dr. Trow
er) will take the confirmations on Sunday
next at Benaonsfield, the Cathedral and
Victoria Park and at St. Alban's on Tues
day next.
Our Broome correspondent telegraphed
yesterday:--"Mr. Mark Rosenberg. a form
er Mayor of Kaleoorlie, died here last
night. He was ill with influenza recent
ly. and developed pneumonia which left
a heart affection resulting in his death."
Mr. Richard Garland, one of the original
directors of the Dunlop Rubber Company,
of Australasia, died yesterday in his resi
deuice in Brighton (Victoria).
The Rev. A. Wellesley Wellington, Pre
sident of the Methodist Conference, will
leave to-day for an official visit to the
Geraldton district. He will conduct the
church anniversary services at Geraldton on
Sunday next and will lecture there on
Monday. He expects to return to the
city on Wednesday next.
Ex-Lieutenant J. Shorrock, D.S.O., died
yesterday as the result of en attack of
tonsilitis. Deceased, who served with D
Company. 28th Battalion, joined the police
force after his return from active service.
