Profound regret was expressed yes
terday when it became known that
Mr, H. M. Levy, well-known as a
bookmaker on the Eastern goldfields,
had expired on Sunday night last.
The deceased gentleman had been
suffering from heart trouble during
the past month, and received atten
tention from Dr. Stacey on the
Saturday night previous to his
death. On Sunday afternoon he was
able to visit his club and transact
private business. Mr. Levy arrived
in Coolgardie in 1894, and sat as a
member of the Coolgardie Muni
cipal Council for a number
of years. Deceased's wife died
about five years ago, but
he leaves a family of grown-up sons
and daughters. His eldest son, Mr.,
Jack Levy, who is at the present
time a registered W.A.T.C. book
maker; was on active service for
close on three years. The well-known
goldfields and coastal bookmakers,
Mr. Alf. Levy, was a step-brother.
The funeral will leave Messrs. A.
and J. Kyle's, Cassidy-street, Kal
goorlie, at 3 p.m. to-day.
