This series contains Nora Heysen's personal and professional correspondence. Apart from a few drafts and possibly unsent letters to family members, the only letters from Nora are to her husband Dr Robert Black. (Folder 1). Amongst the correspondence are clippings, drawings and poetry as well as photographic prints and postcards. A large number of Christmas cards and postcards are unsorted and have been placed together as Series 1, Subseries 7...
Subseries 1.3. Letters to Nora Heysen from her father and mother, Hans Heysen and Sallie Heysen, 1934-1968
This subseries contains letters written mostly from Hahndorf, to Nora in London while she was studying; when she was engaged as a war artist during the Second World War; and while she lived with her husband, Dr Robert Black, in Hunter's Hill. Some letters were signed by both 'Mother' and 'Daddy'...
