Class 1. Original consignment received 1957

This consignment includes texts of speeches and essays; poetry; diaries; notes on federation and the drafting of the constitution; correspondence while at the Attorney-General's Office; memoranda, reports and correspondence regarding the Paris Peace Conference, 1919; material on the Imperial Conferences, Indian Military Dedence Tribunal, 1932-1933; Garran's various activities after retirement in 1932 and varous legal matters. Also includes Andrew Garran's diaries, 1860-1901, notebooks, thesis, and press editiorials as well as general family correspondence and some diaries of Mary Isham Garran, Andrew's daughter. Major correspondents include R. H. Alsop, C. E. W. Bean, Blake & Riggall Solicitors, E. J. Bowater, Sir Richard Boyer, J. R. Casboulte, C. S. Daley, John Garran, R. M. Johnson, D. Series 8. Constitution - Box 10 (MS 2001)

This series concerns Sir Robert Garran's involvement with the development of the Australian Constitution. There are proposed amendments, the draft bill, speeches by Garran and a review of Garran's Annotated Constitution, together with a bound volume of papers (Item 268) from the Federal Convention, 1891, 1897-1898. Please note: Item 268 has been microfilmed and should be used in preference to the original. The microfilm reels are located in the Newspaper Reading Room (mfm G24 757-8)...
