Scope and content
The papers consist of a diary kept by J.R. Elsey while on A.C. Gregory's expedition in North Australia 1855-1856. There are also manuscript and photostat copies of Elsey's correspondence with his relations and with Herman Merivale, together with a photograph of J.R. Elsey.
