Scope and Contents
The papers contain a record of the Rev Charles Strong's work in Australia, especially his connection with the Australian Church. They include letters, minute books, sermons, prayer books, newspaper cuttings, photographs, memorials and several related objects. There are some personal letters and documents, a full record of the foundation and development of the Australian Church, and a record of Strong's involvement with numerous social welfare organizations.

Series 1. Personal Documents, 1875-1960
Letters and articles, 1880, 1881, 1882 (File 2)
Relating to charges against Dr Strong by Presbyterian authorities for unorthodoxy at the Scots Church, Melbourne
Series 5. Prayerbooks, service manuals etc.
Including a handwritten collection of prayers written by him, annotated Bible, and a copy of the Report of the Royal Commission on Religious Instruction in State Schools, 1900 upon the committee of which Strong served.
Series 7. Photographs, Memorials and Objects
This series includes photographs, addresses, testimonials and various objects. The addresses include an address to Charles Strong, Minister of Scots Church Melbourne by the Congregation, January 1881, an address from Office Bearers and Members of Scot's Church District Association, November 1883 and an address from Scots Church Congregation, November 1883. Objects include a mallet used to lay the foundation stone of the Australian Church, 19 March 1887, a presentation clock case, a medal from Greennock Academy to Jessie Denniston, 1858, a fountain pen and a hood for Doctor of Divinity Degree.
