Sir Robert Menzies,

95 Collins Street,

Melbourne♦ Vie. 3000

Dear Sir Robert,

have been looking through various papers have which relate to

possible future projects of the Australia-Britain Society and the Australia

Society (as now believe it is to be called after all) in London, and which

you might care to mention in your speech at the Inauguration of the

Australia-Britain Society on 26th August.

lihat seems to me to be the most comprehensive list is included in the

attached document (A) which you might recall was distributed at the February

meeting of the Cook Society in Sydney. It was written by Peter Spanoghe who

is Hon. Secretary of the Australia Society in London, and also gives some-

thing of the background to the formation of the new Societies. The projects

listed on page are mostly referred to in the master plan of the Australia-

Britain Society and apar from increasing the scope of (d) on page now

unde rwa in both directions, think that the-next projects to be tart ed

by the'Australia-Britain Society will probably be (e), (f) and (h).

thought you might also possibly be interested in the other attachments

concerning the proposed master plan for the reconstruction of the Australia

Society (Club), London (b) and (c), and some earlier notes written in London

in March 1969 for the Cook Society on the movement of young people (b). am

also enclosing for your interest the notes made of the Cook Society dis-

cussions in Sydney in February last.

Please let me know if there is any other material you need for the

speech.

Yours sincerely
