Fix this textblood of Jesus Our Saviour received from Mary, shed in the
Fix this textPassion and death, resumed at the Resurrection, still flowing in
Fix this textHis veins and pulsating through His Sacred Heart and offered in
Fix this textthe chalice at Mass.
Fix this text2. The Precious Blood of Jesus is the means of our salvation. “You
Fix this textwere not redeemed with corruptible things as gold and silver.”
Fix this textsays St. Peter, “but with the precious blood of Christ” .... “You
Fix this textare bought with a great price”, says St. Paul .... “by his own
Fix this textblood” .... “reconciling us by the blood of his cross”.
Fix this textAnd St. John says: “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth
Fix this textus from all sin.”
Fix this text3. This spirit of this devotion is one of joy and gratitude. We are
Fix this textgrateful for our redemption which was so costly for Christ. And
Fix this textwe are happy in the graces and the salvation won for us by the
Fix this textshedding of the Precious Blood.
Fix this text4. As we assist at Mass we recall that the Precious Blood is once more
Fix this textmystically poured out for us on the altar. We recall the price
Fix this textpaid for our redemption by our Divine Redeemer and renew our
Fix this textintention of belonging to Him for ever.
