Thirza Oliver outside the old Chinkapook Post Office, which she worked in from the 1930's. She became manager during the 2nd World War, a post she had to relinquish when the men returned from the war. It was a similar experience for many women, especially when it was often stated in later years that women were incapable of doing many workloads.
