Fix this texta PRACTICAL APPLICATION of the existing principles of Christianity.
Fix this textSome people cannot seem to remember that Christianity is from God and is not capable of
Fix this textfailure. They imagine also that Christianity is like democracy or trial-by-jury or university
Fix this texteducation, capable of improvement, and in fact demanding modifications with every new
Fix this textgeneration. They are shocked when they realise for the first time that every failure has been
Fix this textdue to Christianity not having been applied.

Fix this textWe find ourselves living in a universe which we know is governed by physical laws. We
Fix this textcontme to live, and we find happiness, contentment and health only on the condition that we
Fix this textobserve these physical laws. If we do not eat, nature will kill us; if we do not drink or take
Fix this textprotection against the elements or observe a hundred and one things, the physical laws of the
Fix this textuniverse will exterminate us. Now no man in his senses would dream of saying: “This universe
Fix this textdoes not suit me or my modern brothers. It needs a restatement. The sun should be a trifle
Fix this textnearer the earth and the moon a trifle further off. We moderns need seven seasons instead of
Fix this textf° ur ‘ ~ j e „ ne 4;i nc J w aws § rav ffy> of conservation, of reproduction. The universe in truth
Fix this texthas tailed. The sheer nonsense of such an attitude is clear as noonday. It needs no refutation.
Fix this textI he averagely wise man knows that God has placed man in a universe perfectly fitting to his
Fix this textbodily nature, and that any modification by man, even if it were possible, could only bring
Fix this textBut the f same God Who expressed His Will to man in the physical laws of nature, also
Fix this textexpressed His Will in a series of moral laws which bind the soul of man. We find happiness
Fix this textpeace and contentment, individually, nationally, and internationally, only on the condition that
Fix this textwe observe these laws. They have been made for us by God Who made our whole being and
Fix this textWho therefore understands our whole being from its basic essence to its last mood and emotion.
Fix this textThe idea that man could excogitate a new series of moral laws more fitting for man than the
Fix this textprimal laws of God is a fantastic absurdity. The suggestion that these laws have failed is at
Fix this textleast an unwitting blasphemy. But these laws are Christianity. They are all contained in the
Fix this textbasic law of Christianity which says “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and thy neighbour as
Fix this textthyself. They are enshrined in the Ten Commandments.
