ST. MARY’S CATHEDRAL, SYDNEY.  

While one may respect the stern and dignified classic or admire the more trifling though  

purposeful Renaissance, one always loves true Gothic; particularly beautiful example such  

as this. There is so much which one can "read” into its variety of forms and functions  

that wield wonderful charm. Symmetry has influenced this facade; but does not detract  

from its qualities. The only unbeautiful thing is the somewhat overcrowded gable over the  

magnificent central window. An original item is the ring of circles over the small entrance  

door.
