Certificate of Discharge – William Bray, Boatswain on Pembrooke, Signed James Cook (Capt), dated 18 December 1758, 1758 (File 1) - Volume 1
One of the earliest surviving examples of Cook's signature, dating from a period in his career when he served on HMS Pembroke in the Gulf of St Lawrence carrying out surveying work between 1757 and 1759. The document is signed by both Cook and Captain John Simcoe
