The collection comprises newspaper cuttings, photographs, correspondence, Hydro Electric annual reports and Hydro Electric Commission reports, photographs and other papers relating to Sir John Butters' involvement in the early development of Canberra. Also included are some papers relating to Butters' work in Tasmania and a typed story of Butters Family history.
