Souvenir Programme / ANZAC Day 1919 / 25th April 1919 / "Going Home", 1919 (Item 19XX/12) - Box [unnumbered]

This is a program which was informally printed, being reproduced onboard the HMAT Wyreema from a hand-drawn original as a program for onboard ANZAC Day celebrations held 25th April 1919. It lists sporting events (including potato, egg and spoon, wheelbarrow and apple races, a cockfight and a musical contest). Proceeds of the sale of the program were donated to the Returned Soldiers' Association. The cover depicts a young soldier on the deck of the HMAT Wyreema, and the back cover features a humorous cartoon depicting an elderly French woman with the caption "La Guerre est Fini!! Bon!!!". Names include Lt/col. J.J. Scnalan D.S.O., cpl. E.A. Taylor, 3rd Officer Mr. Geo Long, W.E. Muldoon, Petty Officer J. Kennedy, Rupert Nixon, Gunner V.H. Evans, Major R.J. Dickson, L/cpl. C.H. Program for a Commemoration Concert held in Sydney. The front cover features a solemn patriotic colour illustration signed by Ben Jordan. Inside of the front cover is a photographic print in blue of ANZAC Bay. The program contains the full proceedings with performances and performers as well as listing who sat on the ANZAC day executive committee. Inside the back cover is a photographic print in blue of Shrapnel Gully. Bound with cream string.

The program for a Commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the ANZAC landing held in the Exhibition Concert Hall, Brisbane. This program scheduled activities from 7:50 pm to 9:55 pm. The cover features a coloured print with the words "In Memory of The Heroes of ANZAC 25th April 1915 Queensland - Audax at Fidelis". Forms part of the Library's Ferguson Collection. Associated hymn sheet at 19XX/19.

This is a program which was informally printed, being reproduced onboard the H.M.A.T. Wyreema from a hand-drawn original as a program for onboard ANZAC Day celebrations held 25th April 1919. It lists sporting events (including potato, egg and spoon, wheelbarrow and apple races, a cockfight and a musical contest). Proceeds of the sale of the program were donated to the Returned Soldiers' Association. The cover features a humorous cartoon depicting a soldier saying "Good-byee!" to a French woman and child outside a bar. Represents the same event as item 19XX/12.
