EVERYONES

WITH WHICH IS INCORPORATED AUSTRALIAN VARIETY AND SHOW WORLD

<Hcglitered at th. Ctnaral Po.t Office, Sydney, for Tr.numU.lon by Port a. New.pap.r),

VoL No. 219

SYDNEY. MAY 14, 1924

Price SIXPENCE

HOYT ’ PE LUXE George Sl.__Sydney's Leading Cinema Hoy*

Big Pictures—Coming Fast!

At the beginning of the year First National made definite promise to exhibitors

that the second half of the year’s product would be even better than the first half's magnifi-

cent standard.

We realise that story has been told before. We know that in the past too many show-

men, swayed by few “early releases,’’ have signed up for some company’s product for an

extended period only to find that once they were “collared” the standard of product started

to depreciate.

First National has seen others crash over promises of that sort, unkept.

We realised that there are many more years in the business ahead of us and we took

no risks when we made our promise. We made sure.

The second half of the year is approaching and so are the pictures to make money

in its length, and to honor First National's promise.

Pictures like “The Woman on the Jury,’’ with Sylvia Breamer, Mary Carr, Myrtle Sted-

man, Frank Mayo, Henry B. Walthall, Hobart Bosworth, Ford Sterling, Roy Stewart; Barbara

La Marr in “The White Moth,” George Fitzmaurice’s “Cytherea” with Alma Reubens, Norma

Talraadge's “Secrets,” Corinne Griffith in “Lilies of the Field,” Thos. H. Ince’s “Those Who

Dance” and “The Marriage Cheat,” Richard Barthelmess in “Twenty-one,” Strongheart in “The

Love Master,” and scores of others.

They’re not “specials” purposely picked they’re from the programme feature line-

up picked at random.

lot of exhibitors are worrying about the product they are getting now, and the

outlook.

FIRST NATIONAL EXHIBITORS HAVE NO

PROBLEM AHEAD EXCEPT TO BE ABLE

TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CROWDS.

There’s only one call the trumpeters in the First National production plant know

that is “Forward.”

FIRST NATIONAL IS FIRST NOBODY ELSE ANYWHERE IN SIGHT!
