One Shilling per Annum.

In Brief.

“ HE KNOWETH OUR FRAME*”

Thebe are two words of light divine

That fall upon this heart of mine,

That thrill me in the hour of gain—

That still me in the hour of pain;

Two words endued with magic power,

Suffiicent unto any hour.

Oh lovely words —they shine so bright

With love’s omnicient oversight,

Through all my cares, through all my woes,

The sweetest joy for ever flows;

holy heavenly calm,

Since can sing in endless psalm—.

“ He knows.”

My fainting heart finds strength in this—

My hungry heart here seeks its bliss;

Here aßgry billows never surge—

Here death can never sing its dirge.

My rising fears with murmuring fraught

Finds sudden calm beneath the thought—

“ He knows.”

lullaby for children grown!

nectar sweet for lips that mourn!

balm for stricken hearts oppressed,

pillow where warm hearts may rest.

All joy, all comfort,in thee meet,

blessed words! surpassing sweet!

“He knows.”

ITe feel sure note of praise is on the lips

of all who interested themselves in the case

of Herb. Davie.

Our brother was acquitted without address

from Judge or Counsel, the Jury being

Satisfied of his innocence without retiring.

The Foster friends intend celebrating

their Anniversary on the Ist and 2nd of

October. May their meetiugs be much

blessed.

The Tesult of the No-License Tote will be

gratifying to our readers, particularly |to

those who know of the havoc caused by the

drink fiend amongst the Aborigines in

various parts of the State

word to band from Gladstone (Lower

Macleay) tells of the formation of local

Council to assist our Brother Setchell in his

work on the Island.

Our Brother Caldwell has gone to

Wellington to open up work amongst the

Aborigines in that district.

Our worker, Mrs. Wallace,"sends along

nice account of the work amongst the people

at Wauchope.

We want to thank Eev. Fleming (Port

Macquarie), for his kindly assistance to Mrs.

Wallace in the work she so much loves.

We have omitted to mention the fact

that the Kempsey Presbyterian Sunday

School recently donated £1 ss. to the

Mission, per the local Council. This makes

their third annual donation.

Gifts from the younger folk seem to come

with greater acceptability, and we are con-

vinced that our Heavenly Father is not

unmindful of their thoughtfulness.

Our Brother Bailton is spending the

time between now and the Annual Con-

ference in visiting the South Coast Stations.

He spent little time at Port Kembla, and

is now pushing on.

Mrs. J. Longbottom (nee Nelly Tim-

bury)passed away into the presence of the;

King .during the: month. To her death]

to mourn their loss. Pray for the sorrowing

husband and motherless girl.

the work the Lord has called her to in India.

Our Conference arrangements are not

quite complete. The meetings will be as

Missionaries present, in addition to which

other helpers have also expressed hope to

be with us.

Saturday next, October sth, is the daj

The interest of your players, that 6oi

will bless our Saturday gatherings and also

our Conference, is earnestly sought.

Death has been particularly busy on some

of our Missions —both amongst the child life

and adults.

On some Stations the tax upon omf

workers has been heavy, and the Missionaries

need the prayers of all interested in the

work. Clod had been, and still is, “
