MY PRAYER.

Keep me in step with Thee, dear Lord,

As upward day by day

The way of holiness tread,

The new and living way.

Keep me in step with Thee, dear Lord,

Yes! keep me day by day;

Upheld by Thine almighty hand,

’Tjs victory all the way.

In conscious touch with Thee, my life,

Nothing to come between!

But just Thy presence realised,

To human eye unseen.

Keep me so still, that may hear

Each whispered word of Thine;

Then quickly in Thy power obey,

And for Thy glory shine.

And keep me trusting, blessed Lord,

In child-like confidence;

Thy power and love with sweetest force,

Holding my every sense.

Yes! keep me holy, cleansed and filled,

Walking in step with Thee,

Kept for ihy use, and Thine alone,

Thine all the praise shall be.

(Mary E. Maxwell).

IN BRIEF.

The need of the Mission is Prayer—

much Prayer.

The evil one is busy, and earnest co-

operation is sought that God will defeat his

purposes.

Mr. Wade, who, with his companion,

has returned to Oodnadatta, is at present

alone at that place.

Interesting norts are to hand from

Miss Lock, Mr. v» and other workers.

Miss Lock is doing successful work at

her new station. Address all letters: Miss

Look, Ilarding Soak, Woodford Creek,

Alice Springs, Central Australia.

Miss Harris has left Oodnadatta, and

has returned to her home in Victoria, to

attend to her mother, who is seriously in-

disposed.

Their experiences are recorded in an

interesting account of their travels, pub-

lished in another column.

The annual meeting of the South Aus-

tralian branch elected the following officers

President: Rev. H. R. Heard; Vice-Presi-

dents, Rev. J. C. Jermison and A. E. Ger-

ard; Secretary, Miss V. E. Turner; Treas-

urer, Rev. V. O. North.

The Children’s Home 19th Anniver-

sary passed off very satisfactorily. The af-

ternoon meeting was not as largely attend-

ed as on previous gatherings.

The School of Arts, Nowra, was well

filled at night, and an attractive programme

was much appreciated by those present.

The Quarterly Prayer Time was held

at La Perouse on Saturday, October 15.

The attendance was small, but happy

time was spent by those present.

Mr. W. L. Wright has sent along re-

quest that his name be removed as Treas-

urer from the Victorian Branch of the Mis-

sion.
