Avenue, Lindfield, N.S.W.

Vol. XXVIII, No. 332.

DECEMBER Ist., 1928.

One Shilling and Sixpence per Annum.

IN BRIEF.

The Public Missionary Meeting held in Perth

under the auspices of West Australian State

Councils was very successful one.

It was held in the Lake Street Church of Christ.

Though only 150 attended, it was sym-

pathetic audience, and we are sure good re-

sults will follow.

We are glad to say that the need of motor

vehicle for Mr. and Mrs. Wright’s work at

Gnowangerup was realised, and £l5 has al-

ready been received for that purpose. Praise

be to His Name.

Much gratitude to God was earnestly expressed

by praying friends when the news came

through from Blood’s Creek (100 miles north

of Oodnadatta) of the safe arrival there of

Mr. and Mrs. Wade and Mr. Jas. Page.

They have travelled 1500 miles or more, right

through to West Australia.

They are not going to Oodnadatta, but to the

home of Mrs. McDill (nee Miss N. Smith),

who lives at place called Audado, where

they will rest after their arduous journey.

Miss Lock’s name has been brought into prom-

inence through recent happenings. On an-

other page further hews will be found.

Prayer is asked for this Central Australian

work.

We regret to report that Mr. Deaville has re-

tired, after five months’ probation.

Prayer has been answered, and God has enabled

Mr. and Mrs. Dochorty to start again on

their travels in the Mission car.

Copy of resolution from State Council, West

Australia: “This Council supports the Head-

quarters’ Council in any action it may take

in support of the proposed inquiry into the

recent killing of natives in South Australia,

and trusts that definite action will be taken.’’

Copy of resolution moved by Australian Abo-

rigines’ Mission Headquarters, La Perouse,

N.S.W., Nov. 16th: “That the Headquarters

Executive of the Australian Aborigines Mis-

sion, now met, do hereby request that strict

inquiry be made in the matter of the reported

killing of natives.’’—H. Baker, secretary, Mis-

sion House, La Perouse.

CHRISTMAS MAIL.

The Post Office has asked us to remind our

readers to post their Christmas Greetings and

Gifts in good time for delivery before Christ-

mas, to avoid the possibility of late delivery,

with its consequent disappointment.

SHOP EARLY, PACK SECURELY,

ADDRESS PLAINLY, AND

POST EARLY.
