AUSTRALIAN ABORIGNES' ADVOCATE

THE ORGAN. OF THE AUSTRLIAN ABORIGINES' MISSION.

Record of Mission Worh among

the Dark People of Australian

HE MADE OF DNE EVERY NATION OF MEN FOR TO DWELL ON ALL THE FACE OF THE EARTH

our DIELD- AUSTRALIA ESTAB 1891

No. 22

Registered as Newspaper fo

Transmission by Post.

July 31, 1920

One Shilling per Annum.

In Brief.

In Everything Give Thanks.

cannct thank my God for everything that bends and

shapes me thro’ my earthly days,

But would learn, whatever life may bring, to strike

somehow little note of praise.

cannot thank Him that the wind blows east, and stings

and chills me to the very bone

But praise Him for the strength at least, which can

resist, edure. and hold its own.

cannot thank Him for the storms that break with fury

flash and flood o’er sea and land

But praise Him that His rainbow makes its silent

lovely sign while earth shall stand.

cannot thank Him that temptation flings its daring

gauntlet in my foolish face

But praise Him that no moment brings too dread an

ordeal for almighty grace.

shall give thanks for everything one day, but, mean-

while for hourly grace to see

Some compensating side to all, pray: “This is the

will of God concerning me.”

WINIFRED A. IVERSON.

Me and Mrs. Neale, of North Melbourne, have

been accepted as workers for the “ Hugh Mor-

wick” Children’s Home at Bomaderry.

They leave Melbourne with the good wishes of

their many friends.

We trust that their coming to N.S.W. will en-

large the circle of praying friends.

God bless Mr. and Mrs. Neale in thus bravely

stepping out in entire dependence upon God.

Mr. Preston paid vis to the Macleay River

recently, and returned recommending the rein-

statement of missionary on Fattorini Island.

The mission house has got into disrepair, and

it was decided that same be renovated and made

habitable.

Miss Mcßidg* reports progress at Noocooriima.

The numbers are small, but now that the rain has

filled the tanks return of the people is looked

for.

Mrs. Fowler is much better, and the return of

our esteemed matron to the Horae (where she has

been much missed) is looked forward to wilh

pleasure. cordial welcome home is assured

Miss Fowler.

Mrs Clarson, who spent few days in Sydney

recently, paid brief visits to La Perouse and

Bomaderry.

Miss Belshaw is still supplying at Bomaderry.

We hope very soon to send her forth to work more

immediately among the adults.

Mr. Lau has been doing some good work at

Bomaderry Home, and also visiting and holding

meetings at Hoseby Park and Wreck Bay.

Miss Baker desires to acknowledge through the

“ Advocate” postal note for 10/-, sent anony-

mously “ for special need.”

Prayer has been ascending to God for specific

needs, and the above donation, with other tokens

from loving Father, have greatly cheered and

encouraged the recipients.

An encouraging letter to hand from Miss Tur-

ner. Our friend’s chief regret is that she cannot

do more for “Christ and the aborigines.’
