The Rugby League

News.

Journal devoted to the interests of Rugby League Football, and containing the

only authorised List of Names, Numbers, Colors and Positions of Players.

Published by the N.S.W. Rugby Football League at their Office, 165 Phillip Street, Sydney, N.S.W,

Vol. 2.—No 19

SYDNEY, AUGUST 13th, 1921

rice —T wopen «©

With the Tourists Aboard the R.M.S. “Tahiti."

Although the weather was ideal,

with fair breeze from the west,

when the vessel left the Harbour,

it was not long before those aboard

realised they were not going to

have things all made to order, for

at about mid-day they ran into

severe storm which served to find

out the weak spots in their armour.

Advices from the team contain the

news that only three—Billy Cann,

Sid Pearce and “Ricketty” John-

ston—escaped the dread effects of

mal-de-mer, some of the team re-

ceiving rare shaking up, which

completely prostrated them. Every

appurtenance liable to be of service

for the team’s training is available

on board, and, although they had

not indulged in any exercise on

the way over to Wellington (for

obvious reasons), after leaving that

port the serious business of the

tour will begin in earnest.

The team have adopted war

cry, and while it is yet trifle early

to divulge it, it is sure to awaken

great deal of interest in the tour-

ists on the other side, for great

number of the public on either side

of the world like to follow the old

custom, and hear the battle cry of

the invaders. It is to be hoped

the war cry will not have been

framed on the universal chorus on

the trip to Wellington, viz., “Europ!

Europ'! Europ!!! ” If so the team

will be well trained for it.
