Education

JOURNAL OF THE NEW SOUTH WALES TEACHERS FEDERATION

AGREEMENT NO. PP255003 00104

Vol. 75 No. 11 August 29 1994

TAFE

PART TIME

CASUAL

TEACHERS

ENTERPRISE

AGREEMENT

The pros and

cons of the

Enterprise

Agreement are

discussed on

pages and

19. Statewide

meetings of

part time

casual teachers

are being

organised to

discuss the

Agreement.

Make sure you

have your say.

SPORT AND

RECREATION

CENTRES

BAN

Federation directs all members not to

take their students to Sport and

Recreation Centres from the beginning of

1995. Schools are urged to support this

ban for the rest of this year. If no

arrangements are in place for 1994,

impose the ban immediately. If

arrangements are in place, Federation

strongly advises immediate cancellation

wherever possible. Further details are on

page of Education.

NRMA SHARE FLOAT

The NItMA is putting to members proposal to list the company on the stock

exchange in effect to privatise the organisation. Such proposal would

have significant implications for ali members’ future rights to participate in

the NItMA let alone the impact it could have on services. Despite the best

efforts of the Motorists Action Group’s representatives who are supported by

Federation and other unions, the NItMA Board has decided to promote only

the YES vote. In the interest of balanced debate and because Federation

believes there are serious disadvantages to the proposal which members are

entitled to know about, key exponents of the NO case have been invited to

put their concerns in Education. See page for their arguments.
