Staffing Shortage:  

Presidential Officers Meet  

With Association Representatives  

The Presidential Officers of the Fed-  

eration held discussions, on Thursday  

May 22, at the Rooty Hill RSL, with  

Association Representatives from the outer  

metropolitan areas of Sydney.  

The discussions produced constructive  

proposals which will assist the Emergency  

Staffing Plan Campaign.  

The campaign, which included radio and  

newspaper advertisements, has been  

designed to increase the political pressure  

on the Department and the Minister to  

respond in more positive way to Feder-  

ation’s short-term and long-term Emergency  

Staffing Plan.

TEACHER STAFFING SHORTAGE  

There is shortage of qualified teachers in our schools.  

The Teachers Federation repeatedly warned the Government that this would happen.  

have an emergency staffing plan which will ease the immediate crisis and  

increase the supply of properly trained teachers.  

Teachers Federation is committed to ensuring the highest quality public  

education for all students.
