Scope and Contents
The material filmed by the Australian Joint Copying Project includes: Letters 25 October-13 December 1889 from Thomas Robinson to his wife describing his voyage to Western Australia on the SS Cuzco and his first few days in Australia; Family documents including a family tree of 'The Townsends of Buckminster Leicestershire'; a copy of the marriage certificate of John Townsend and Jane Machin 24 March 1844; a copy of the birth certificate of Ann.

Biographical / Historical
Little is known of Thomas Robinson, apart from the fact he was a wheelwright. He was born in 1850 and married Ann Townsend at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel at Grantham, Lincolnshire, in 1873. Emigrant to Western Australia in 1889.
