Biographical / Historical
The firm of J. Swire and Son shipped metal goods, foodstuffs, spirits, stout, tea, sugar, cement and other goods to Australia. Its Australian agents were Lorimer, Rome and Co. 1861-1894, G. Martin 1894-1900, and Yuill and Co, 1900-1948.
