Fix this textAustralian Kelpie and Heeler Club’s
Fix this textAffiliation Cancelled by K.C.C.
Fix this textFollowing observance over a long period of
Fix this textthe manner in which the Australian Kelpie
Fix this textand Heeler Club has conducted its affairs in
Fix this textrelation to the K.C.C. and its government of
Fix this textthe dog world, the Committee of the K.C.C.
Fix this textdecided at a meeting held on October 26, 1939,
Fix this textto cancel the club’s affiliation forthwith.
Fix this textThe decision was not reached hastily, but
Fix this textwas precipitated by receipt of a communica-
Fix this texttion from the club couched in terms wholly
Fix this textunacceptable to the Committee.
Fix this textThe members of the Committee of the K.C.C.,
Fix this textas trustees of the welfare of dogbreeding and
Fix this textexhibiting in Victoria, were satisfied that in
Fix this textsimilar circumstances it would be their duty
Fix this textto take identical action against any affiliated
Fix this textbody regardless of its degree of importance,
Fix this textfor only by facing, even though reluctantly,
Fix this textduties as unpleasant as this can the Committee
Fix this textensure the dog world maintenance at, and
Fix this textprogress beyond, its present highly satisfactory
Fix this textstate.
Fix this textThe Australian Kelpie and Heeler Club, until
Fix this textdisbanded, is now an unrecognised body. It is
Fix this textno longer possible to support both this club
Fix this textand the K.C.C., and it therefore remains for
Fix this textall concerned to decide whether the club or
Fix this textthe K.C.C., with its 32 affiliated bodies, can do
Fix this textmost for them and for canine affairs generally.
Fix this textAccordingly it is necessary that all office-
Fix this textbearers and members of the club at once re-
Fix this textsign from all connection with it, failing which
Fix this textthe rules governing this and other unrecognised
Fix this textbodies must apply to them.
Fix this textThese rules provide that any person being
Fix this textconnected with an unaffiliated body (other than
Fix this texta body having the sanction of the K.C.C.) shall
Fix this textbe ineligible ,to be connected with an affiliated
Fix this textbody or to take part in or attend a K.C.C.
Fix this textexhibition.
Fix this textAll dogs registered in the name of or owned
Fix this textby such a person shall also be ineligible.
Fix this textTHE COCKER SPANIEL CLUB
Fix this textThe Cocker Spaniel Club’s Open Parade will
Fix this textbe held on Saturday, November 25, at Myer’s
Fix this textCar Park, Lonsdale street, city. This is a central
Fix this textand commodious site provided with covered
Fix this textaccommodation.
Fix this textThere are numerous trophies and specials,
Fix this textand the committee has set a stage which should
Fix this textcommand wholehearted support from those
Fix this textfanciers who have the interests of the breed
Fix this textand club at heart.
Fix this textThe judge-elect, Mr. G. P. Whitaker, a prac-
Fix this texttical gundog man and late hon. secretary of
Fix this textthe Cocker Spaniel Club of England, has of-
Fix this textficiated at championship shows in England,
Fix this textincluding the English Kennel Club’s own
Fix this textshow.
Fix this textAlthough the club cannot accept respon-
Fix this textsibility, unattended exhibits will be met and
Fix this textwell cared for. Schedules are now available
Fix this textfrom the hon. secretary, Mrs. N. A. Fraser,
Fix this textNusa, Maverston street, Burwood, E. 13. WMIISO.
Fix this textOn Monday, December 4 (8 p.m.) at Howey
Fix this textCourt, 234 Collins street, First Floor Supper
Fix this textRoom, the Cocker Spaniel Club will hold its
Fix this textannual social and presentation of trophies.
Fix this textMembers will welcome and entertain their
Fix this textfancier friends. The committee will appreciate
Fix this textthe utmost endeavours by all to make this club’s
Fix this textfixture a success.
Fix this textDOG SECTION OF BENDIGO
Fix this textAGRICULTURAL SHOW
Fix this textNOT RECOGNISED BY K.C.C.
Fix this textMembers and Exhibitors. —The Dog Section
Fix this textof the Bendigo Agricultural Society’s Show is
Fix this textnot recognised by the K.C.C. The rules bear-
Fix this texting on “unrecognised” fixtures are now well
Fix this textknown, for they have been in force for many
Fix this textyears. They provide that any person sup-
Fix this textporting such fixtures with entries, &c., becomes
Fix this textineligible to take part in or attend a K.C.C.
Fix this textexhibition. All dogs registered in the name of
Fix this textor owned by such a person also become in-
Fix this texteligible.
Fix this textHad the Bendigo Agricultural Society ap-
Fix this textplied for affiliation with the K.C.C., or at least
Fix this textobtained the easily secured sanction of the
Fix this textK.C.C., this regrettable state would not exist.
Fix this textIn addition the Show would be a success, for
Fix this textthere are enough members of the strong Ben-
Fix this textdigo Kennel Club (affiliated with the K.C.C.)
Fix this textto have secured this, quite apart from the
Fix this textmany other K.C.C. supporters who are also
Fix this textdebarred from helping it along.
Fix this textIt is unfortunate, too, that some quite
Fix this textextraordinary statements are made in the
Fix this textSociety’s Prize Schedule. It states, for
Fix this textinstance, “ conducted under the general
Fix this textrecognised rules used to govern the showing
Fix this textof dogs and making awards.” “A two-point
Fix this textChampionship Show, as applied to Agricultural
Fix this textSocieties held under recognised Rules of Sup-
Fix this textporting Clubs.”
Fix this textAll exhibitors should note carefully that if
Fix this texta fixture is recognised by the K.C.C. the fol-
Fix this textlowing words will appear in the Prize Schedule
Fix this textbeneath the title of the fixture.
Fix this text“To be held under the Kennel Control Coun-
Fix this textcil’s Rules and Regulations, a copy of which
Fix this textmay be inspected at the office of the Secretary
Fix this textof this Parade/Show.”
Fix this textIn addition, the name of the body promoting
Fix this textthe fixture will be followed by the words:—
Fix this text“Affiliated with the Kennel Control Council.”
Fix this textThe only one exception ,to these conditions
Fix this textis in the case of a Sanction fixture, when the
Fix this textwords, “Sanctioned by the Kennel Control
Fix this textCouncil” will appear in the Schedule.
Fix this textAll those K.C.C. exhibitors who received a copy
Fix this textof the Bendigo Agricultural Society’s schedule
Fix this textshould carefully note the position, and so avoid
Fix this textpossible complications.
