OBITUARY
MISS AMY RYRIE
Miss Amy Anne Lilias Ryrie, mem-
ber of the well known Monaro family,
died in Goulburn on Saturday morn-
ing last, aged 77 years. The late
Miss Ryrie had been in ill-health for
some weeks, death being due to
pneumonia.
Miss Ryrle, who had resided in Goul-
burn for many years, was a native
of the Monaro, being the second
daughter of the late Stewart and
Janet Ryrie, formerly of Jindabyne
Station, Monaro, and Coodra Vale,
Yass. The early part of her life was
spent at Jindabyne.
During here residence in Goulburn
Miss Ryre was a prominent worker
in public and charitable interests.
She was an enthusiastic supporter of
the Goulburn branch of the Red Cross
Society for many years, holding of-
fice as secretary for some time. Miss
Ryrie was a member of the local
branches of the Country Women's
Association and R.S.P.C.A., and also
displayed a keen interest in polities,
taking an active part in campaigning
on behalf of the U.A.P.
She is survived by one sister, Miss
A. Ryrie (Goulburn) and two nieces,
Sister Ryrie (District Hospital) and
Janet Ryrie (Goulburn).
The funeral took place on Sunday
afternoon, leaving the residence, 2
Cowper Street, for the Church of
England portion of the general ceme-
tery.
