then 'obviously one niust :-isuoit it;
Tillls a brief plilbsophy which Mr.
McKillop will ,probably ' concede is
essential to the normal promotion of1
any, social' ideall ' That ideal, In my
opinitn, consists at the present time
in protecting the economic life of
this country from the evil effects of
the socialisation of credit. This
policy originated in the Lang Labour
party, and represents according to Its
sponsor's the first step to the social
isation of all industry.
CLASS CONSCIOUS
It is therefore anti-capitalist, and
essentially and viciously class consci
ous. The 'Lang Labour party's policy
thus proves its class conscious char
acter. Thile Rev. Father Brlce, S.M.,
in a recent lecture in Sydney, declar
ed that socialism is opposed to human
nature since it would destroy hitman
freedom. The socialisatlon of credit
is the first stage in the introduction
of socialism, and for this reason those
who do not desire to lose their lib
erty under a soclalised state cannot
support the Lang Labour party.
As forl international debts, Mr. Mc
Killop must surely uniderstand that
such debts are different from private
debts only in their extent. If a pri
vate or an international debt is can
celled, then someone must suffer a
loss. The Lang party's crude ideas
regarding credit and debts are a suf
ficient reason why electors should
vote for either a U.A.P. or a U.C.P.
candidate at the approaching Federal
election.

Monkey and the Nuts.
Sir,-The ultimate paragraph in
the letter on Natlonallsation sponsor
ed by Mr. D. A. McKillop, appearing
in your issue of the 29th ultimo, is
entertaining. Granted that the test
of a civilised spirit of any community
is as hlie says, then Labour's record
is not one for any Christian to be
proud of, because tile last Lang Gov.
ernment defaulted in widow's pen
sions, family endowment, superannua.
tion payments and school .bursaries.
Moreover, the closing of the Savings
