BAD WEATHER IN COULBURN.
Sunday was a day long to be remembered in Goul
burn. -The weather was simply execrable. Early
in the.Thorning tihe mercury reahedtheltinetieo, and

was 103.2. The minimumn for the 24 hours was 64.
All day a fierce westerly ýblow, sending clouds of
dust and smoke all over the city, and the atmosphere
was, as may readily be imagined, execeivrly try
ing. In the evening at about seven the glass was
still in the neighbourhood of the nineties. At about
8 o'clock a southerly came up, bringing with it
clouds of nsmoke. Tihe southerly, however, soon re
duced the temperature, and when the smoke ohad
been carried away the night was cool and pleasant
at all events out of doors.
A'bush fire was burning in the vicinity of Boxers'
Creek on Monday.
On Saturday the maximum temperature reached
96.8. -
Monday was another scorcher, with a hot westerly,
though the day was not as bad oas its preeeceessor.
The maximum temperature on Monday was i00.5.
