option on
Chevron
Mainline Investments
Pty Ltd, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Mainline
Corporation Ltd, Sydney
based, developer and
builder, has entered into
an option agreement with
Chevron (Queensland)
Ltd for the purchase of
Chevron's Surfers Para
dise hotel and adjoining
properties.
The property, which is
the subject of Mainline's
option, is bounded by Gold
Coast Highway. Cavill Ave
nue. the Esplanade, and
Hanlan Street.
Tt is almost five acres in
area and loeated in the
heart of the Gold Coast
resort.
Mainline is at present in
vestigating the feasibility of
a comprehensive redevelop
ment of the property, which
would include a large in
ternational standard hotel,
two high rise blocks of ser
viced apartments, cabann
and motel tvpe accommoda
tion units, shops, restaurant?
a large swimming pool, a
tourist coach terminal and
underground car parking.
The company has already
constructed two major
buildinss at Surfers Para
dise. Mainline built the Sur
fers Paradise Travclod.se in
1064 and in 1966 completed
The .Sands. a 10-storey
home unit building.
