W. GRIFFITHS MAKES GOOD
Wins Association Magarey Medal
W. Griffiths, Norwood B defender, who
has been awarded the Magarey Medal in
the South Australian National Football
Association, is one of many metropolitan
footballers who have come to Adelaide
from Broken Hill.
In 1926 Griffiths was selected in a team
representing the Barrier against South
Australia. As a member of West Broken
Hill Club he won the medal for the fairest
and most brilliant player in that combina
tion.
Coming to Adelaide in 1927 Griffiths
joined Norwood. He was chosen to as
sist the seniors during that season and
part of last year. He has regularly stripped
for the association side this year, his bril
liance at centre half-back having made
him a tower of strength to the redlegs.
Griffiths, who has played in every posi
tion on the field with the exception of
rover and goalkeeper, is 25 years of age.
He weighs 11 st. 6 lb., and is 5 ft. 11 in.
tall.
Swimming is another sport which claims
his attention.
