ALICE IN
WONDERLAND
NEXT SDNDAY
Alice in Wonderland, -
adapted for television
for the first time any
where in the world, is
sure to be one of the
most popular TV pro
grammes this Christmas.
It will be presented, as a
special musical fantasy, in
the B.P. Super Show from
CTC-7, Canberra, on Sun
day, December 16, at 7 p.m.
Some of Australia's best
known TV and stage per
sonalities will appear in the
show.
The title role will be
played by Patricia Moore,
who is currently starring in
the .J. C. Williamson pro
duction of Carnival at Her
Majesty's Theatre in Mel
bourne.
She played Eliza Doolittle
in the. Australian production
of My Fair Lady.
Fine Cast
Television and stage per
sonalities appearing in the
programme will include
Chips Rafferty, Australian
film star who will play the
White Knight, and Kevin
Colson who will play the
Knave of Hearts.
Kevin is currently co
starring in J. C. Williamson's
Carnival which is playing in
Melbourne and will soon be
seen in Sydney.
Noel Ferrier, well-known
Melbourne television person
ality and actor, will play the
part of Humpty Dumpty.
Other artists who will be
seen in Alice in Wonderland
include William Hodge,
Johnny Ladd, Brian Cross
ley, Bob Hornery, ' Ron
Shand, Roger McDougall,
Fred Parslow, Robina Beard,
Kevin Reagan, Ray Trickett,
and the Channel 9 Dancers.
Alice in Wonderland has
been specially written for
television ~by .well-known
Melbourne free-lance writer,
Jeff Underhill.
Costumes
Melbourne c'o m poser,
Bruce George, has written
the music.
J. C. Wiliiamson's ward
robe department made the
costumes Which have been
designed from the world
famous Tenniel drawings,
seen in most copies of Lewis
Carroll's books.
The costumes should prove
to be one of the highlights
of the show.
Noel Ferrier's wife, Sue,
has designed the sets for the
television production of Alice
in Wonderland.
Sue also designed the sets
for the stage version of the
fantasy which was produced
last Christmas at the Comedy
Theatre, Melbourne.
Famous scenes from the
original book and its sequel,
Alice Through the Looking
Glass which will -be seen in
the production include The
Mad Hatter's Tea Party, The
Croquet Scene, The Court
Scene, Humpty Dumpty, The
White Knight Scene, The
Lobster Quadrille, The Gar
den Party and The Duchess'
Kitchen.
To make room for Alice
in Wonderland next Sunday,
Flight and the Burns and
Allen show will be tempor
arily dropped.
