PRESENTATION'
Mr. T. H. Massey, organist at the New
castle Cathedral, was given a farewell,
and presented with a wallet, containing
£50. in notes, at the Lismore Council
Chambers.
Alderman C. McKenzie, the Mayor of
Lismore, in making the presentation, said
that Mr. Massey had taken a leading part
in the musical world in Lismore for many
years past, He had worthily upheld his
reputation of being one of the finest or
ganists in Now South Wales. Mr. Massey
had given ample evidence of his ability,
more especially in connection with the
Lismore Philharmonic Society. Mr. Mas-
sey, in the course of his response, said
Lismore was acting up to its usual gen-
erosity in making the present. It was
an honour, not only to himself, but to
the town, that he had received the ap-
pointment at Newcastle. His work in
Lismore had been a labour of love, and
he had been encouraged in his work from
the minister downwards. The Rev. A.
McKillop spoke of Mr. Massey's assocI-
tion with St. Paul's Church Choir for the
past ten years, and the extension of his
services to other church choirs. Repre-
senting those of St. Paul's Church, the
speaker wished to say how grateful they
were for the faithful way Mr. Massey,
as organist, had served the congregation.
Messrs. W. I. Lane, president of the Lis-
more Bowling Club, F. W. Wicks, vice
president of the Lismore Philharmonic
Society, Mr. S. McLean, and Dr. Cahill,
