Mr. Frederick Chambers, aged 52 years,

Chambers's body in the office. The damage
by fire is estimated at several thousand

At the Tumut (hJS.W.) Quarter Ses
sions dame* Hunt, aged 22 years, charged
with having stolen £896 from the Tumut
Cooperative' Dairy Co. while employed as
a clerk, was found guilty and sentenced to
imprisonment in the Gouijturn gaol for IK
months. The defalcations occurred over "a
period of two years.
Christos Tnrthcnos, aged 02 years, a
Greek, employed at a restaurant in Oxford
street. Sydney, was admitted to hospital
suffering from severe injuries to his head.
He said that he had been attacked by

his condition is critical.
Thieves broke into St. Stephen's Roman
Catholic Cathedral, Brisbane, and ran
