W"ALLSEND AND PLATSBUJIG.
<'.- public meetine, for the purpose of
advonatlng war-time prohibition, was held
at the school of arts "etterday after
Loon, Mr. J. Humphrey presiding. The
Bspeakers were Captain-chaplaino Cranston
and Mr. J. Clegg. At the close of their
addresses the speakers were accorded a
Vote of thanks, on the motion of Mr. W.
Conn, seconded by Mr. E. J. Haworth.
:'At St. Luke's Church on Sunday morn
ing the pulpit was occupied by the
Rev. A. A. Yeates, a former rector of
the church.
A meeting of ladies and gentlemen con
nected with the Italian Red Cross Fund
will be held to-morrow light.
At Phelan's Picture Palace to-night, the
star picture, "Man's Law," will be
screened. A good supporting programme
will be shown, inclur!ng the detective
drama, "Yachts and Hearts."
