MOTOR BODY WORKS
ABLAZE
AGAIN ENDANGERED.
HOLDEN & FROST'S
Another fire broke out in Holden and
Frost, Limited's, motor body works in
Grenfell street, on Saturday afternoon.
Shortly after 2 o'clock, Mr. H. Kleiner, of
the Commercial Auction Mart, Rundle
street, Adelaide, noticed a dense volume of
smoke rising up at the rear of his premises.
He immediately telephoned the Metropolitan
Fire Brigade, which wasted no time in
arriving on the scene. The conflagration
must have originated from the forge right
at the back of the old premises, which
were destroyed by fire not long ago, and
which have been restored. Flames ate
through the new wooden floor just above
the forge, and destroyed several new motor
bodies and a quantity of motor upholstery.
A lot of window frames were also consumed.
Credit is due to the firemen under
Superintendent Dickie's control for having
made such a good "save." A few minutes
after the arrival of the brigade, the fire
was well under control. The amount of
damage appeared to amount to a few hundred
pounds.
