WEARY OF LIFE-
a station m aste r's death.
NUMURKAU, Monday.
Charles Robert Roacbc. fifty-four years
of age; sfotionmaster, died by his own
hand here this morning.
As Roachc was not on duty at the usual
time. Jack Tobln, porter, went to his pri-
vate residence at mid-day and discovered
the body lunging to a beam In nn out
house. The body was dead and cold.
It wna apparently a ease of determined
suicide. In order to effect his purpose,
itoache stood on a small box, which he af
terwords-kicked away. He was last seen
alive at 7.30 this morning by George Rus
sell, ond It is supposed that he went
Rtralghl home nnd took his life.
Deceased wan greatly respected, and had
been in chnrge of tho local station for soma
years. He had been a great nufforer front
dyspepsia and ether complaints for month)
past. During tho past fortnight he had
been n victim to insatn-ala..
Roachc loaves a wife and family of nine,
the eldest of whom la about twenty-four
yenrs of age.
