Tram Concessions
For Children

lion on Tuesday details were Riven ot
the representations which had been
made that day to tho Tramway Com- ,
mlttee of tho Hobart City Council re-
garding travelling concessions tor ',
schoolchildren. ,
The hope was expressed that the pro-
mise of the tramway authorities to ,
consider the matter favourably would
result in greater concessions being
given, which would result in cheaper
travelling for chllJren attending all
secondary schools, and enable many
to go home for lunch.
The headmaster (Mr. H. V. Biggins)
gave details of the successes ot pupils
of the school in the recent leaving
examination. Mention was made of a
blind pupil who had completed his fifth
year at the school and passed the
examination with six subjects to his
credit.
The report stated a marked advance
had been made In the matter of better
accommodation for the pupils. The
completion of the new library was an
outstanding feature, and the early com-
pletion of the new domestic science
block, dining-room, and gymnasium
would provide n helpful adjunct to the ,
school premises. New boundary fences ,
had been provided, but much -was, re-
quired to bo done to make the fences ¡
more uniform.
