SHIPPING STUDY
IN LAUNCESTON
TOP LEVEL shipping conference will sit in Laun
?* cestón on Monday to inquire into Tasmanian
shipping and freights, and, in particular, the offer
made by waterside workers to work a twilight shift
if freights were reduced by £1 a ton for a year.
The conférence is the result
of the efforts by Senator Henty,
and Mr. Luck and Mr. Kekwick
Ms.H.R,. who, following the
watersiders' offer, asked the
Minister for Shipping (Senator
McLeay) to call the interested
parties together.
It will be presided over by
the Secretary of the Depart-
ment for Shipping CMr. C. H.
McFadyen).
Senator McLeay will be
represented by Mr. Kekwick.
The conference, will be, at
