Trucks Drivers Negligence;
. Yesterday; Mr. F. F; Hbrgan, Acting
Coroner, delivered his ifinding in - the ? in
quiry into the_ circumstances of the death
of Philip' Henry Matson. the well-known
lootballer and iootball coach. Early on the
evening of June 11, a motor truck driven
by Williani^Horace Bant, who .had Matson
as a passenger, left the; road in Hampdenr
road, Nedlands,. and collided, with a tele
graph pole. Mjitsbn received injuries from
which li% died in the Perth Hospital a few

The Coroner found that Ma tsbn's death :
was due to a fractured skull and ;Iacer-,
ation of the brain caused I by his. being
thrown from, the' truck, which was neglig
ently driven. by.Bant. As :.a' rider, he recom
mended that Hampden-rbad, which is now
being reconstructed and, otherwise alter
ed, should lie so widened, and, lighted as to
uieet with the requirements necessary for
a thoroughfare carryifljia large. volume of
