TO BE MADE BY MR. MARTIN
I Tlie fallowing is reprinted frcm the

' sible:
I Un Tuesday night the general meet
! ing of the VV.l.U. ol A. decided to
! have a recount of the recent ballot so
I far as the delegate to the Central
I Council and assistant secretary was
j concerned. Tho returning officer re
j ported on the ballot, explaining that
he had counted the preferences by
: dropping out the lowest man, and so
! on, but not exhausting each preference.
The poùit was raised that, although
1 from the viewpoint of the returning
officer his action was above board, his
method of conducting the count was
not in accordance with the prescribed
rules for the counting of a preferential
ballot. Upon that point Mr. Lamb,
the president, rules that the ballot
would bave to be counted again, even
if it were positive that such count
could make no difference to the result.
Therefore he ref use ,1 to allow any re-
solution declaring himself elected as
delegate to the Council or Mr. H.
Nolan as assistant secretary. It was
resolved to request Mr. G. D. L.
Martin, the State electoral returning
officer, to recount the ballot.
Yesterday Mr. Vinal! got into com-
munication with Mr. Martin, who con-
sented to assist in the matter, and he
will count the ballot on Saturday morn- ;
