Goodwood Fails Against Prospect
The "whitewashing" of Goodwood by
Prcspect at Hawthorn was the surprise of
the season. For some time Goodwood
established a reputation for big hitting,
accurate pitching, and sound fielding, and
consequently was the hardest team in the
game to defeat. Prospect, the most Im
proved side this season, early showed the
minor premiers that the battery of the
Pucket brothers would. keep the
Goodwood batsmen quiet. Bon
Sharpe. too. was on the spot
in the pitching box for Goodwood, and
Prospect was enabled to score the only
run registered in their second line up.
when 6tapleton connected for a two
bagger to left field, reached third base on
an Interference by fielder and completed
the circle when Cole sent a bard ground
smash, to right field. Goodwood's oppor
tunity to score In the second Innings wzx

each. C. Puckett was In fine form In the

to Dew did fine battery work. Dew was
also best with the stick for Goodwood.

completed the circle on errors and hits by
Ohlstrom and T. Holland. Torrens evened
