Fletcher-Sclonders
Win Glenelg Golf
N. Fletcher and J. Sclanders, two former
club champions, won the pairs championship
at Glenelg yesterday afternoon, defeating J.
Molan and H. F. Wright 2 and 1.
In the semi-finals in
the morning. Fletcher
and Sclanders beat H. M.
Langdon and J. P. Maddern
2 up, and Molan .and
Wright defeated R. P. Ste
vens and B. T. Ferris, 5
and 4.
On Saturday, Sclanders and
Fletcher led the qualifiers with a
78, and Stevens and Ferris, who
had won the title for three years
''succession, were 78. Molan

OPEN IN PERTH
Several SA golfers will
leave next Sunday for Perth to
play in the Australian Open which
will be conducted in Western Aus
tralia this year.
Present holder or the Austra
lian title Peter Thomson, who
finished one stroke behind Bobbj
Locke in the British Open, is ex
pected to defend his title.
NEW COURSE OPENED
The new 18-hole course West
ward Ho at the corner of West
Beach road and Tapley's Hill
road was opened yesterday by the
president of the SA Golfers' Asso
ciation I Mr. J. Ashtonl who hit
a fine shot off the first tee.
About 100 were present including
the secretary of the SA Profes
sional Golfers' Association (Mr.
Rufus Stewart I.
Proceeds were in aid of the
Legacy Club and the Willie Har
vey Memorial.
