corded with the bat. notably home runs by

Accurate pitching, secure Celdins. and
stronger batting were the main faclurs In
Goodwood's whitewashing of West Torrens on
the Neutral Ground, the game ending in five
runs to nil. Ron Snarpe pitched well over
the plate, only two scattered bits being re
corded against him. His bag for the after
noon was 11 strike outs. The fielders, too,
were in good form, and only in two Innings
did four Torrens batters get to tbe box.

error. Goodwood scored three runs in the

brought three across the plate. Kensington
then changed Its battery, T. Puckett talcing
over the pitching for his brother Charlie, who
donned the mask. The change made a dif
ference to Kensington, who failed to score for
the remainder of the game. Prospect con
tinued hitting out. and. aided by numerous
fielding errors, runners got to the home plate
in all but one Innings. Staple ton and C
Puckett put up a great performance for Pros
pect with four safe hits each out ot five times
b\ bat. Cole on first base had the nice record
of 16 put outs. Garnish batted best for Ken
sington.

East Torrens won by four runs to twS. The

Adelaide's Big Win
Adelaide defeated Glenelg at Hawthorn by
11 runs to six. Adelaide got an early crip on
the game, scoring five runs in the Orst three
innings. Fielding errors contributed largely
to that. Glenelg got one runner heme In the
fourth line-up and good batting In the suc
ceeding line-up brought three runners across.
Glenelg was two runs behind at this stage.
Adelaide made another forward move In the
sixth visit to the baiting box. when errors
again assisted three runners to get across.
In the eighth line-up two more runs came ss
the result or bad mistakes. Although Glenelg
staged two rallies, only singles were obtained
in the eight* and last Innings. Vaughan
batted best for the winners with four safe
hits out of five times at bat. Noblet did best
for Glenelg.

University's easy win over Sturt made its
position in the minor premiership unassail
able. The final scores were nine runs to one.
Big hitting, accurate pitching and fielding,
and the assistance of numerous fielding errors
were the chief factors in Sturt'e defeat.
