Death Of
Lady Kidman
Lady Kidman, whose death
occurred yesterday at her home
in Northgate street, Millswood,
will be long remembered for her
keen interest in and benefac-
tions to many charitable and
other organisations in Adelaide.
For many years she was ac-
tively associated with the work
of the YWCA, of which she was
president for two periods, and
which she represented at over-
sea conferences. She was made
a life member of the board of
the association in recognition of
her services, which were not
confined to the administrative
side. She believed in keeping
in personal touch with the girls
belonging to the association,
and took a close interest in their
sporting activities. Her hus-
band, the late Sir Sidney Kid-
man, shared her interest in the
"Y."
Other organisations which
have benefited from Lady Kid-
man's practical interest are the
Home for Incurables and Minda
Home, Brighton. She made her
home and lovely garden avail-
able for fetes for charitable
purposes, and for the annual
"presidents party" of the
National Council of Women.
Lady Kidman leaves a family
of one son, Mr. Walter Kidman,
and three daughters, Mesdames
Sidney Ayers, Sidney Reid and
Nelson Clover.
