LOWER ALMA, July 9.
The corner-stones of the New Primitive
Methodist Chapel were laid yesterday by the
Misses Hissey, Lawson, Harris, and Fidge. A
collection was afterwards made. The friends
then proceeded to Mr. Harris's school
room, where tea was provided. A public
meeting was afterwards held under the
presidency of Mr. J. Harris. The following
gentlemen gave interesting addresses — Messrs.
Searle, Bowman, Towill, and the Revs. T.
Jarrett and E. E. Davis. During the evening
selections of music were well rendered by the
choir. Mr. Dyer, jun. presided at the harmo
nium. The total proceeds in cash and promises
amount to £50.
