    The above photographs give some idea of the havoc caused in Gympie by the cyclonic storm which swept over that city on Thursday morning. The upper pictures represent a butcher's shop at Monkland (left), with its roof torn off, and the Monkland Roman Catholic Church, which suffered severely. The lower pictures show damage to a house near Queen's Park (left) and the station-master's residence at Monkland, which was shifted 3ft. on its blocks.
