    PASSENGER PIRATES.—At 1.30 a.m. on December 8, when between Swatow and Hongkong, pirates, who had got on board disguised as passengers, endeavoured to take possession of the steamer Haiching. A desperate fight resulted, in which at least 10 pirates were killed and many wounded.
