Yesterday afternoon the executive entertained about 200 English women settlers and their children at a tea party in the Botanic Garden. Dozens of happy little children were regaled with cakes and other good things, and were given over to the charge of younger members of the League while their mothers were able to enjoy their tea without the responsibility of looking after their babies. On arrival in Australia all new settlers are entertained by the League, and made to feel that they have, in the land of their adoption, friends who arc vitally interested in their welfare.
